One of our biggest successes has been bringing government funding back to our community.
$34.7+
in provincial and federal funding secured for our community, supporting major investments in infrastructure, recreation, public services and growth, while saving residents over 115% in tax increases.
$71M+
in roads, water, sewer and other linear infrastructure, while advancing major projects such as the Saint-Jean corridor and roundabout, bridge and road rehabilitation, and improvements to our municipal facilities. 2026 also saw the approval of the reconstruction of Laurier Street between Laporte and Giroux.
$122M
for the widening of County Road 17, which will improve congestion and encourage economic development. We will be awarding the contract this fall and moving into design phase and construction shortly thereafter. This is a major win for Clarence-Rockland!
$37M+
investment for a new French-language public secondary school, while advancing the city’s 2051 urban vision, expanding digital municipal services, and supporting economic development and major infrastructure priorities.

Mario Zanth
Mario Zanth has proudly served the residents of Clarence-Rockland since first being elected to City Council in 2014. After seven years as a City Councillor and five years as Mayor, he has earned the trust of residents through authentic leadership, kindness, integrity, and a genuine commitment to putting people first.
Following a 17-year career in the federal public service, Mario is now retired and has the privilege of dedicating himself full-time to serving the residents of Clarence-Rockland as Mayor. His experience at both the federal and municipal levels has given him a deep understanding of how government works and how to build strong partnerships that deliver meaningful results for the community.
Mario believes that leadership begins with listening. He values honest conversations, thoughtful decision-making, and treating every resident with dignity and respect. Whether meeting with a family, a local business owner, a community organization, or a resident with a concern, he believes everyone deserves to be heard. His approachable nature and genuine compassion have always been at the heart of his public service.
Throughout his time in elected office, Mario has focused on responsible financial management, investing in essential infrastructure, improving public safety, and strengthening relationships with provincial and federal governments. His leadership has helped secure millions of dollars in external funding for local projects, reducing the financial burden on taxpayers while advancing priorities that improve the quality of life for residents today and for future generations.
Before entering municipal politics, Mario dedicated part of his career to supporting victims of crime. That experience reinforced his belief that public service is about more than policies and budgets, it is about helping people through difficult times, standing up for those who need a voice, and building communities where everyone feels safe, respected, and supported.
In addition to serving as Mayor, Mario is currently Warden of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell, where he works with the region's eight municipalities to advance priorities that benefit residents across the county. He also serves as Vice-Chair of the Eastern Ontario Wardens' Caucus, representing municipalities from across the region and advocating for stronger infrastructure, improved health care, housing, economic development, public safety, and the needs of rural communities.
Mario is known for bringing people together, building consensus, and finding practical solutions to complex challenges. He believes that good leadership is measured not by promises, but by results, accountability, and a sincere commitment to serving others with honesty and respect.
Mario remains committed to building a Clarence-Rockland that is financially responsible, economically vibrant, safe, and welcoming, a community where families can thrive, businesses can grow, and future generations will be proud to call home.
